God’s work never stops. Churchwide office staff are still hard at work – from our homes. Hours and lines of communication remain the same.

Hurricane Response

The situation:
Over the last several years, many powerful hurricanes have hit, threatening the lives and homes of our neighbors. Lutheran Disaster Response is committed to accompanying hurricane survivors on the long road to recovery. In 2020, we're prepared to respond to any hurricanes that arise through our trusted network of partners.

Our response:
In 2019, we provided long-term recovery to survivors of many hurricanes that have struck over the last few years, including Hurricane Dorian, Hurricane Florence, Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, Hurricane Maria, Hurricane Matthew and Hurricane Michael. Long-term recovery for hurricanes often includes helping people rebuild their damaged homes and providing other support.

What you can do:
Please pray for people who have been affected by hurricanes. May God's healing presence give them peace and hope in their time of need.

Your gifts designated for “Hurricane Response” will be used entirely (100 percent) for direct response until it is complete. Together, we can help provide immediate and long-lasting support for those whose lives have been impacted by hurricanes.
